8 Cute and Easy Halloween Cakes
Who said Halloween cakes have to be gory? Not me! I definitely prefer the cutesy over the gory cakes, and my cutesy cakes are still full of Halloween spirit! Whatever you prefer, I have tons of ideas for cute and easy Halloween cakes that you and your kids will love!
OK, I have made a couple of Halloween cakes leaning more on the gory side and I didn’t hate them! I actually loved how my Bloody Brains cake turned out, and it was so fun making it too. I just get way more giddy from the kid-friendly themed cakes, you know?
I’ve had a lot of fun with my Halloween-themed cakes over the years, so I’ll be highlighting those for you again in this post! But, also be on the lookout for this year because I’ll be coming out with some new creations soon!
Halloween Cake #1: Bat Cake
This bat cake feels very much like my style of cake decorating. I think this cake is very nice and neat yet still fully captures the Halloween vibe I was going for. Feel free to bake whatever type of cake you want for this! Follow the link above to see my decorating tips for it!
Halloween Cake #2: Bloody Brains Cake
This bloody brains cake is the one I mentioned earlier! It does lean more toward the gory side, but it still is very reserved I feel. I thought I’d fully embrace this side and photograph the cake with a knife plunged in the middle! Follow the link for tips on how to decorate this cake.
Halloween Cake #3: Monster Cake
This monster cake would be a fun one to decorate with your kids! They would love to create the monster face when adding the eyes and the teeth. The trick to this cake is to start piping the monster hair at the bottom of the cake, so each layer of “hair” falls on top of the other. Follow the link for the full instructions!
Halloween Cake #4: Striped Witch Cake
This striped witch cake is one of my favorite Halloween cakes! Now, you may think the stripes are too hard to do, but if you follow my tips on the full recipe you could do it! You could even add some more features to create a witch face. Have some fun adding your own style to it!
Halloween Cake #5: Pumpkin Cake
This pumpkin cake is definitely on the easier side. You could freehand the pumpkin face (that’s what I did after sketching it out first) and then decorate the rest of the cake with whatever you feel captures that Halloween theme!
Halloween Cake #6: Candy Corn Cake
This candy corn cake is so bright and fun! I use that striped method again here, so be sure to follow my tips for that if you want to try this one! I even have a video to show how I did it, so you can check that out to help you visualize how it’s decorated.
Halloween Cake #7: Skull Cake
I love how simple this skull cake is, yet still makes you feel that Halloween spirit. I love how well the white contrasts with the black skulls. You could even add some red food gels if you really want it spooky. This would be a great cake to bring to a party because it doubles as decoration and dessert!
Halloween Cake #8: Ghost Cake
This ghost cake is similar to the bat cake I mentioned earlier, so if you were planning on making that one, you can just make this one too! Since they’re so similar in the decoration process you could have two cakes instead of just one. That sounds good to me!
Well, I hope you found some cakes you want to try from these 8 cute and easy Halloween cakes! I love anything that will help celebrate a holiday or a season and of course, I love it most when it’s through cake!
