3 Fun and Easy Halloween Cakes
Candy Corn Cake
I love how bright and happy this Candy Corn Cake turned out. To be honest, this is definitely more of my style Halloween cake compared to some of the gory cakes.
Make sure to check out my Instagram video below to see how I did this one.
And then head over to Shop.CakebyCourtney.com to get the striped scraper to help achieve this darling look.
Skull Cake
I think one of the things that has evolved the most throughout my cake journey is my aesthetic. It’s so fun to create over-the-top, whimsical design (especially for Avery’s birthdays), and my jaw always drops when I scroll through feeds of my favorite cake artists and see their imaginative works of art, but I have found that I feel most comfortable and most myself when I stick with more simple, modern, clean looks. They always feel more me.
I love that about cakes and art and all sorts of things we create in life, you can kind of get to know a person by their style of their creations.
I had a totally different design planned for this cake, but as I started down that road, it just didn’t feel right. So I scrapped it and ended up here. And I couldn’t love it more.
This one is just done with @wiltoncakes black candy melts and @orsongygi chocolate molds (super easy search “skull chocolate molds” on their site). Melt the chocolate, fill the molds, and let set. I then used buttercream to stick them onto the cake.
If you want a slightly spookier look, you could add some red food gels (you know, the kind that you get at the grocery store in the tubes and it’s kind of translucent) to the eyes or mouths of each skull to look like
Ghost Cake
My ghost cake is a new version of my bat cake from last year. To make this cake you’ll need:
- Candy sticks
- Edible black marker
- White fondant
- Chocolate chips
- Ghost cookie cutter
To make these ghosts and cake toppers:
- Roll out your fondant
- Cut out your shapes
- Place the ghosts around a cookie sheet to create shape and dry
- Leave out overnight
- Use edible marker to make faces on the ghosts
- Color candy stick with black marker
- Melt your chocolate
- Dip your candy stick in chocolate and attach to ghost. Let dry
- Place ghosts on side of cake with buttercream

Hi, I’m going to try baking this recipe and wanted to know if you can specify the cake flour flavor for the raspberry cake? Thanks!
